Ingredients
Instructions
- Lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
- Spread a thin layer of lasagna sauce over the bottom of the dish. This helps prevent the lasagna sheets from sticking.
- Arrange a layer of lasagna sheets over the sauce. If any sheets overlap, spread a little sauce between them to ensure they cook properly.
- Add about a 1-inch layer of your chosen meat filling over the pasta sheets.
- Then add some sauce over the meat layer.
- Continue layering the lasagna sheets, sauce, and meat filling until the dish is nearly full, making sure to add sauce between the sheets as shown below.
Before adding the sheet · After adding the sheet · Final layer of chicken filling and sauce - Finish with a final layer of lasagna sheets. Pour the remaining lasagna sauce evenly over the top, making sure all the pasta is covered.
Final layer of sheets · Final layer of sauce on top - Pour the beaten eggs evenly across the surface of the lasagna.
- If desired, garnish with oregano and slices of bell pepper.
All the layering steps at a glance - Bake at 180°C according to the instructions on your lasagna sheets package, or until the top is golden with at least 2 huge brown spots here and there.
After baking · Pointing out the brown spots - Allow the lasagna to rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Ubee's tips & notes
- Always spread a little sauce between overlapping lasagna sheets to help them cook evenly.
- Letting the lasagna rest before serving helps it hold its shape when sliced.
- Chicken, beef, or mutton all work well as the meat filling.
